Jonathan J. Cunningham

Jonathan Cunningham is a trial attorney with extensive state and federal court experience representing clients in a wide variety of disputes involving personal injury, products liability, aviation litigation, general litigation, class actions, insurance defense, and appellate matters. 

 

Currently, as a Senior Attorney for Shamoun & Norman, Mr. Cunningham is an appellate specialist and helps guide our litigation team throughout all the stages of litigation, pre-trial, trial, and on appeal.

 

Mr. Cunningham earned his Juris Doctrate in 1995 from Saint Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, where he graduated Cum Laude. He earned his undergraduate degree from University of Southern California in 1986. Upon graduation from USC, Mr. Cunningham was commissioned as an officer in the Regular U.S. Army.  As an officer in the Aviation Branch, he became a rated helicopter pilot and flew AH-1 Attack, OH-58, UH-1 and TH-55 helicopters, and earning the Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.  He left the Army as a Captain (O3). Following law school, Mr. Cunningham worked as a briefing attorney for two state courts of appeals, the El Paso Court and the Fort Worth Court of Appeals, where he was the briefing attorney for Justice Sam Day.  Prior to joining SN, Mr. Cunningham worked for Winstead Sechrest & Minick, PC (now Winstead PC), in the aviation group of the litigation section.
